Inspection Reason

East Asia and North America (especially the United States) are the world’s two largest cryptocurrency markets, with trading volume accounting for about half of the global market. Compared with their East Asian counterparts, US exchanges are subject to stricter supervision and the country is home to the world's largest crypto exchange Coinbase. In order to help investors better understand the country’s cryptocurrency exchanges, the inspection team went to the U.S. for a field visit.

Inspection Process

The business visited this time is Matcha, a cryptocurrency exchange, whose address is 300 BEALE ST SUITE A SAN FRANCISCO CA.

The inspection personnel arrived at the destination, a building at 300 BEALE ST, San Francisco designed for both residential and commercial purposes.

But they didn’t find the logo or name of Matcha outside the building. Since that it was a private property, the investigators couldn’t gain access and had to end this trip.

The investigators went to San Francisco for a visit to the cryptocurrency exchange Matcha and confirmed that its office may not exist at the alleged office building. Investors are advised to choose this exchange carefully.
